MOREART at CHS 2017-2018

All About Afterschool MOREART at CHS:

Early childhood and elementary art education at CHS emphasize process over product. Children are at various stages of developing fine motor skills as well as the ability to "see" art and the world around them. Exposure to a variety of art materials, processes and projects is key to enjoying success in art and learning about it's basic elements: line, shape, color, value, form, texture, and space. Art provides an ideal learning opportunity for children to explore personal expression and meaning. As they experiment with materials they develop their problem-solving abilities, gain self-confidence in their creativity, and learn to trust their decisions.

The Afterschool MOREART class meets on Mondays from 3:20-4:20 in three sessions: Fall, Winter, & Spring.
The class is set up as an Open Studio Time, for students in K-3rd grade. This means that students can make their own decisions about what types of materials and projects they want to pursue. A variety of options are presented each week and the student's interest dictates how the class evolves. This is a great opportunity for focused and independent students to think creatively, to work collaboratively as well as individually, and to gain confidence in their art skills.

Three Sessions are available in order to allow the largest number of students to have an opportunity to participate. Visit the CHS Website for more information about registration.
